Plaque mounting is a great way to get your art posters, maps, certificates and photographs up on the wall very affordably. We do not recommend plaque mounting original works of art or anything that cannot be replaced.
A lower cost alternative to framing, plaque mounting is a process whereby a print or photograph is dry mounted onto a piece of MDF or masonite then laminated to protect the artworks. The piece hangs from a keyhole or ledge at the back (larger/heavier pieces will have appropriate hanging hardware attached).
Choose from 3 different styles of plaque mounts:
Regular Plaque Mount: Your piece is laminated & dry mounted onto a piece of 3/8″ MDF with a bevelled edge. For bevelled edge colour, you have a choice of 11 different tape colours or you can have it custom painted to match your piece.
Float Plaque Mount: Your piece is laminated & dry mounted onto masonite and a strainer (that is smaller than your piece) is fixed onto the back so that your piece appears to be “floating” out from the wall.
Flush Plaque Mounted: Your piece is laminated & dry mounted onto masonite then a strainer is fixed onto the back right at the edge (and painted black) to make your piece appear to be mounted onto a 7/8″ thick piece of wood (without the weight of actually doing so!)
